Joachim Gerlach’s research on Long COVID represents a significant contribution to our understanding of this complex post-viral disease. His account, which links persistent infection, autoimmunity and vascular pathologies, thus provides a comprehensive framework for understanding Long COVID.
The emphasis on the multisystemic nature of Long COVID and the economic and public health implications underscore the importance of continued research in this area.
